Trish Wylie presents a solo exhibition of new work examining female stereotypes and the perception of ageing in Western society, by reimagining the traditional hero of iconic Cowboy movies and putting her own image into the frame. The exhibition is from 5th October to 10th November, 2017 at William Road Gallery, John McAslan + Partners. At a time in history when women around the world have risen up to take control of their own destinies, culminating in the Women’s March on Washington in January 2017, which drew bigger crowds than the inauguration of U.S. President Trump, and was echoed in cities all over the globe, many artists including Wylie are channeling this post-feminist energy into their practice.
